Eureka: My favorite town in America

My favorite thing about Eureka is the fun gadgets and inventions. Like S.A.R.A.H., the sheriff’s house.

That the people and relationships are well-drawn is just the icing on the cake. The first-season finale was heartbreaking. And last season’s finale had the shocking side effect of making me like Nathan Stark for the first time ever.

Very minor spoilers ahead, but I felt I should warn you.

IGN.com describes our new season thusly (actually, it appears to be the second half of Season 3, which is just silly, because, I mean, really, it’s the fourth season, just call it what it is, people!!!):

Season 3 picks up where it left off with Jack Carter being removed from his job as Eureka’s sheriff and Allison announcing that she is expecting her recently-deceased husband’s baby.

I’d forgotten, honestly, that Carter was being fired from his job. We know that he won’t be forced to leave Eureka (and I hope he gets to stay in his house); I wonder how he’s going to stay. Will Allison hire him as the head of security for Global Dynamics? That’s just a guess on my part; I know nothing of the sort.

But will this mean Jo is the new sheriff? If so, maybe Carter stays on because she hires him as her deputy? That’d be all sorts of fun at the sheriff’s office. I love Jo and her guns.

I have to admit, though, I regret that the show creators decided to pair Jo with Zane (as amusing as that relationship is), because I thought Jo and Taggart (remember him?) were all kinds of fun in Season 1.

i09 reports that Fargo’s got a girlfriend (yay, Fargo!) and that the baby shower for Allison’s going to be epic:

What does a super absorbent diaper or baby bottle or a bib look like when it’s been created at Global Dynamics? What’s a maternity dress or shirt look like when it comes from the greatest minds in science and technology?

We journey back to Eureka next week – July 10.

I, for one, am looking forward to the journey and want to see what our friends there have been up to.
