Warehouse 13: Scavenger Hunt

As sad as I was to see Eureka end its run this summer, that’s how happy I was to get Warehouse 13 back on my TV. The only thing they really have in common is the light-heartedness of a Summer show, and the quirkyness of their set-ups, but I adore them both. I am happy to have my favorite* Secret Service agents back on my TV. (*Sole exception, Ron Butterfield, The West Wing)

Anyway, I’ve been wanting to write about this season, but with the Olympics and some long weekends and my general laziness, I haven’t gotten around to it. Totally my bad.

We started the season right where we left off, the warehouse exploded, Agent Jinks dead, Mrs. Frederick shriveled and dead, H.G. redeemed and general chaos abounds. But much like all my other favorite sci-fi shows, just because you’re dead doesn’t mean you stay that way.

After the introduction of a time re-do, and the introduction of Brent Spiner as a secret society, is-he-good/is-he-bad type, the warehouse is restored, as is Mrs. Fredericks and eventually Claudia fights to bring back Jinks, with the odd help of Mrs. Fredericks, which seemed weird to me, and will most likely come back at us later in the season. The use of artifacts always has repercussions, right?

And because I am so behind, I will say this about season four. That first episode was a humdinger. I’m kind of mad that they brought back Agent Jinks, even though I like him, and I like him and Claudia together. The whole thing feels WRONG, and I am sure there is more awfulness  to come because of it. I think that Pete and Myka’s agent-y relationship is perfect. I like how they’ve made Artie even more skittish and shifty because of his choice to save the warehouse.

The last episode, “Personal Effects” was a scavenger hunt for the gang, and I really loved seeing everyone hunt and snag multiple artifacts. And even though I figured out the major bad guy was probably gonna die, they did surprize me on how that story unfolded.

By the end, we know that Claudia  is suffering Jinks’ injuries, and that Leena knows something is up with Artie, due to his odd colored aura. (I also like how they are using Leena this year)

THEN! Artie makes a call to a mysterious person and says, “There’s something I need done, and you can’t tell anybody.” We know what he needs done, but by whom? I have no earthly idea.
